NJSLA - Grade 3
April 1, 2025
Dear Clinton Families,
Starting April 28, 2025, Clinton will administer the NJSLA Assessment to students in Grades 3, 4, and 5. The NJSLA Assessment is a standardized state assessment that stands for New Jersey Student Learning Assessment. The assessment is electronic and will be administered to students in their classrooms using their Chromebooks. Clinton’s testing dates are listed below. Please note that make-up testing will take place immediately following each grade level’s scheduled testing dates.
You can help your child be successful during each day of testing by ensuring that they get a good night’s sleep each night, eat a healthy breakfast, and get to school on time. Please make every effort to schedule appointments for your child, (doctor, dentist, etc.) that do not conflict with the testing schedule. We plan to begin testing promptly at 8:30 am. If your child arrives after 8:30 am, he/she will be withheld from entering their classroom until testing is complete and this will result in make-up testing for your child. Any electronic devices from students (cell phones, smart watches, fitness trackers, etc.) will be collected during testing. We strongly encourage you to keep your child’s cell phone at home during testing unless it is absolutely necessary that they bring it to school.
The website below will provide you with further information regarding the content and structure of the assessments, as well as ideas for supporting your child:
